ATTACKING BENT POSTURE backwards throw opponent. By Graeme Spinks
Просмотров 8556 месяцев назад
Attacking bent posture, it's difficult to throw because of the far proximity of the hips of opponent. One way is to forwards and down pressure opponent into a flex reaction like jumping on a pool spring board, and then release that pressure to throw off balance opponent backwards.

    Can someone explain to me how the white man choked out the black one? I thought the compression must be made in the front of the neck, not the back?!!

      Are you sure? I saw some good boxers and they moved brilliantly evasive, I have my doubts too, but surely if it’s possible to storm in and clinch when they come forward and if that can be done judoka can throw easily .

    You can see by your style that you are still a competitive fighter. You haven't become complacent, which some fighters do when they transition into coaching only. I think your style is strong and efficient. Excellent demonstration and huge respect to you for all your achievements. Would love for you to come to Port Elizabeth, South Africa to our Dojo for a couple of days to give us some top class coaching.

    I'm the Uke in this video, we recorded it in about 2002 I think after only a couple of weeks practice (hence the low quality Uke and video). I stopped judo in about 2006 so it's great to see something of what I did is still around to show my kids. I always loved working with the mercurial Brian Cloynes, RIP Brian.

      @JudoLife Месяц назад

      More injuries in most other sports. Our overall injury % to training hours is very favourable. Usually injuries mean uncontrolled from throw lack of care of opponent or too much resistance from defender. Did you make this injury or opponent or a combination of both ?

      Simultaneously or imperceptibly so, yes. As balance is broken entry to throw becomes relatively easy. If balance isn’t broken opponent resists entry blocking it

    Well that big windup is a dead giveaway, any decent judoka would push your head down when you kick that leg up and lean down

    • @JudoLife
      @JudoLife Месяц назад

      Did you see the windup in the tournament examples of use. Don’t actually do that when fighting, it is a development of thrust trick for opening fast twitch neural pathway gross movement. Creates explosive motion. Close to tournament don’t use it, it’s the out of season training uchikomi.

      If you grab belt, and roll, that in Japanese words is obi-tori (belt take) gaeshi (roll) The hiki Komi Gaeshi is draw pull roll. I think it’s named appropriately because of the actions. If this has changed it’s only recently in the last 5 years or so.
